The perils of work

It all started out innocent enough. Despite the 37 degree heat outside, I decided to man up and face the autumn trends. But, you know, looking at lovely things more often than not results in wanting said lovely things. Especially if it’s something I’ve been day-dreaming about for seasons past. In this case we’re talking about a cape. I find them impossibly glamourous without looking ridiculous. To illustrate my point: there are a few other things out there that are impossibly glamourous as well but seem somewhat silly in our age and time. Like a fur stole. Or a jaunty little hat in broad daylight.

And this is the object of my current desire:

This is exactly what I will want to be wearing this autumn together with Hunter wellies when I skip through the rain and wind. Do you think I can set up one of those crowd funding things in order to buy it? Surely, that must be exactly what they were made for.

It looks like neither my personal nor the fashion industry’s as a whole fascination with neon accessories is going to die down anytime soon. Christopher Kane just launched this clutch exclusively for netaporter.com and declared all other colours ‘so banal’ in the process. The flowery lace laser-cut design is in keeping with Kane’s current spring collection and will look absolutely stunning paired with nudes and neutrals, maybe a cropped trouser with this graphic Choo.
